Let's Get to Know One Another

David Sifri, PsY.d.

Dr. David Sifri (he/him) is a licensed Psychological Associate in the state of California (PSB#94026667).  He is practicing under the supervision of Dr. Anna Nedelisky.

David specializes in working with adolescents and young adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, interpersonal difficulties, and self-esteem challenges.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking, reading outdoors, lying in the sun, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.

Approach to therapy

Most of us strive to feel at peace and confident in our moment-to-moment lives, but painful past experiences and anxieties about what lies ahead can make this challenging. Our self-worth can be affected by these influences, and our love for ourselves can become conditional. By processing our past experiences and changing the relationship that we have with our unpleasant emotions, we can begin to form a more stable, loving connection with ourselves and the people around us.  Through this work, feelings of peace and confidence become less affected by external “successes” and “failures,” and we can courageously step out into the world as a healthier and happier version of ourselves.

Our work together may include psychodynamic, emotion-focused, mindfulness, and client-centered approaches. However, I view counseling as a collaborative process, with human connection at its core. We both bring an important piece to the therapy room; I bring an understanding of psychological concepts, while you bring an expertise about your own experiences and cultural values. Using our relationship as an anchor, we can begin the journey of exploring your inner world, and, as a result, guide you to living the life you envision.
